Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1 clove garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon olive oil (for grilling)

4 whole grain burger buns

Lettuce and tomato slices (for serving)

Optional: avocado slices and sauce of choice

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, onion powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, making sure they are compact. If the mixture feels too wet, you can add a little more breadcrumbs.

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil to the skillet if using that method.

Once hot, place the chicken patties onto the grill or skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the patties are golden brown.

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster while the burgers are cooking.

Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the chicken patty, a slice of tomato, and any additional toppings such as avocado. Top with the other half of the bun.

Serve immediately with your favorite sides, like sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
