Ingredients

1 can of refrigerated crescent roll dough

8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced

4 oz sliced pepperoni

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Olive oil (for drizzling)

Sea salt (to taste)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface and separate it into individual triangles as per the perforations.

Place a slice of mozzarella cheese at the wide end of each triangle and top it with 1-2 slices of pepperoni. Sprinkle a pinch of Italian seasoning on top.

Starting from the wide end, carefully roll the dough towards the pointed end, ensuring the filling is snugly wrapped inside.

Place each roll onto the prepared baking sheet with the pointed end facing down to prevent unrolling.

Brush the tops of the croissant rolls with the beaten egg and drizzle lightly with olive oil. Sprinkle sea salt over them.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.

While the rolls are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a small saucepan or microwave until warm.

Once baked, remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil, if desired.

Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
