Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

2 green onions, sliced (plus extra for garnish)

1 cup cooked white rice (or cauliflower rice for a low-carb option)

1 cup steamed broccoli (or your favorite vegetable)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Kimchi (optional, for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes, stirring well.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula until fully browned and cooked through.

Add Flavor: Drain any excess fat from the skillet, then pour the sauce mixture over the beef. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the sauce has thickened and the flavors meld together.

Incorporate Vegetables: Toss in the sliced green onions (reserve some for garnish) and cook for another minute.

Assemble the Bowls: Place a generous serving of cooked rice in each bowl. Spoon the Korean ground beef mixture over the rice, then add steamed broccoli or other vegetables.

Garnish: Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and the reserved green onions. Serve with kimchi on the side if desired.
