Ingredients

8 Hawaiian rolls

4 large eggs

1 cup milk (whole or almond milk works great)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional for sweetness)

2 tablespoons butter

Fresh pineapple slices (for serving)

Maple syrup (for drizzling)

Powdered sugar (for garnish)

Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar (if using) until fully combined.

Slice the Rolls: Carefully slice each Hawaiian roll in half horizontally, keeping them intact on one side so they can be stuffed after soaking.

Soak the Rolls: Dip each half of the Hawaiian rolls into the egg mixture, allowing them to soak for a few seconds on each side. Ensure they absorb enough of the batter but do not become overly soggy.

Cook the French Toast: In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once melted and bubbling, place the soaked rolls cut-side down into the skillet. Cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Repeat with remaining butter and rolls.

Serve: Remove the rolls from the skillet and place them on a serving plate. Top with fresh pineapple slices, a drizzle of maple syrup, and a dusting of powdered sugar. Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a burst of color and freshness.

Enjoy: Dig in while warm and savor the sweet tropical deliciousness!
