Ingredients

1 lb (450g) boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cornstarch

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

1 tsp sesame oil

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: In a bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss the chicken pieces in the mixture until evenly coated.

Heat the Oil: In a large pan or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Make sure the oil is hot enough for frying (you can test by dropping a small piece of chicken; it should sizzle).

Fry the Chicken: Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown and crispy, roughly 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Make the Sauce: In a separate saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sauce is well combined and slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes.

Coat the Chicken: Once the chicken is fried, add the crispy chicken pieces to the saucepan with the honey garlic sauce. Toss well to coat each piece in the sticky sauce.

Serve: Remove from heat and transfer the chicken to a serving plate. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Enjoy: Serve immediately with steamed rice or as a delightful appetizer!
