Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup chicken broth

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp butter

1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the fettuccine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Sauté Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp, seasoning with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make Cream Sauce: In the same skillet, pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Add the heavy cream, stirring well. Once simmering, slowly add the Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.

Combine: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, add the drained pasta, and toss everything together until well-coated in the creamy sauce. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if necessary.

Serve: Plate the creamy garlic shrimp pasta and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Enjoy!
